Dear ma'am,
I respect you for standing out for the common people. Thus far you have performed better than what is expected of you, and mainly because of your sincerity and passion to help the people.
What I'm going to say may sound trivial, maybe repeated by someone else. But I sincerely believe in taking one step at a time. Walk firm and you will stand tall.
Continue to engage with the commonfolk like you do. That is your forte and that is how you can serve your party best. Bring their issues up and put into perspectives with the overarching intentions of the party. Let the rest do their jobs.
e.g. Have the specialists in the party do what they do best - collect data and statistics, analyse, run simulations based on your party's economic/social models and see if your solutions do work. Base everything on solid predictions instead of making guesses of what the future will be if Policy A kicks into action, or if Policy B gets revoked. In this way you get credibility instead of charges =P
Will also advise you to take a look at what you wish to represent and if your party shares the same goals as you do. You are still young, and not too late to put a firm stamp of your feet on someplace you believe you can call your Base.
Good luck and all the best for your bright future!
