I can't quite put a finger into it, but recently I have been enjoying the process of slowly trudging along the story campaign, taking my time clearing out levels and (as usual) spamming save points, LOL.
Honestly, I am pretty surprised, especially when I'm more of a multiplayer, competitive shooter kinda dude. Hoot with kakis, own the connection, and levelling up for imba customization sessions. That's more like me.
But DS2 sp has its own hidden beauty in it. I can only guess some reasons why...
- Great maps and monsters placements. great cutscenes and sequences. I used to hate those special action sections when I have to do specific things other than aiming and firing. But that doesnt feeling doesnt seem to surface quite often now...
- Very interesting enemies. I especially like those 2 legged rushers, those macam velociraptors, just appear sprinting at you. The thrill of putting stasis and spamming round after round into its head is just exciting :P
- Great weapons. Even if I only have 4 weapons now (line gun, line cutter, standard mg and javelin gun), the others like ripper blades, contact beam are simply imba. If only there's $$ farming in this game, I'd max everything out!
Come to think of it, I've really enjoyed DS1. Maybe it's time to revisit it again :) It's one of those games where the sp just excels in every way. Best title of EA, imo...
